Frankly, nobody prays for bad events to happen to him or her but sincerely, life is about ups and downs and this post is not targeted at undermining your worth but to point out the dangers of postponing your exams.
Where you currently work or the position you hold is not forever. Circumstances beyond the management’s control could make you lose your job irrespective of the sector you find yourself in.
You might say that nothing of such has happened to the company in the last 80 years… Yes, but nothing is permanent in life.
My question is if anything should happen to your current job, what is the guarantee that you will get an equivalent or even a better job without your ICAN qualification?
To be sincere, it will be very difficult. I have been there and I know a lot of ACA-in-waiting that have been there too. Your years of experience will not matter then.
The major criteria you will be measured on is that are you qualified or not? Because that is what the position demands except you want to start low or be underpaid. Furthermore, you will be used to train other inexperienced qualified Accountants who you will be reporting to.
Is this your true desire?
