Frankly, some students should have qualified a long time ago, but they want to wait till all conditions are perfect before writing their exams.
The question is how can you wait for all conditions to be perfect in an imperfect environment? Even you, as humans, strive toward perfection every day through several imperfect practices.
A perfectionist which I once was, always want to wait until conditions are perfect before doing anything.
Recently, at Ikeja shopping Mall, I met Taiwo, one of our students who has not written the ICAN Exams since 2017.
Then, his excuse was because ICAN will be changing the syllabus soon, he will wait afterward. After the syllabus was changed, he did not write the exam, he kept on coming for video updates for 3 diets.
So, I asked what he was really waiting for. According to him, he wanted to write the exam after 4 diets because it will be very easy “by that time.”
However, as a well experienced person, I had to guide him so that he won’t continue to make the mistake of waiting for perfect time which does not exist.
You just have to create the circumstance for and use it to your best advantage. ICAN will always maintain its standard and if anyone is waiting for it to be easy, then he will wait till eternity.
Currently, Taiwo is qualified and I can’t count how many students he has pushed and encouraged to get the Simplified and Comprehensive Lecture Videos and write the ICAN Exams. Some of them have also qualified and others have moved to the next level.
