Frankly, understanding topics and how they relate to and affect other topics. Also, the interrelation and interconnectivity of topics and dominating and influencing them might go a long way to immensely influence your exam success.
This does not rule out the aspect of Questions and Answers…However, if you don’t understand and comprehend then it will be no different from cramming to the exam hall.
When I started with my ICAN, I was confused, frustrated, and very angry because of the way I prepared for the exams.
Initially, I blamed the exam for being unfair. But, eventually, I looked in the mirror and had to acknowledge that I could not move on until I learned from this experience. The bottom line was that I did not understand the concepts and their application.
Though, it was incredibly difficult and humbling to accept. I am now thankful for this period in my life.
because when I admit that I don’t understand the courses I failed in depth instead of blaming the exam body and hide under the excuse that it is difficult.
So if you are an ICAN student who has written the exams before or you are just starting, here are six components to turning your exam failure to your advantage:
1. Acknowledge the failure.
2. Take full responsibility- You won’t get anywhere as long as you blame others for your failure.
3. Allow the failure to touch you.
4. Learn from the experience.- Even failure can be redemptive if you learn something from it.
5. Change your behavior, character and Strategy. -Philosopher and poet George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot learn from history are destined to repeat it.”
6. Get back up and complete your ICAN project: You can’t allow failure to hold you back from the next venture. If you fall off the horse, you have to get back on.
Lastly, You can’t control others. You can only control yourself. Take responsibility for your mistakes and forge your path to success.
