As every day goes by, your ICAN Exam gets closer, whether you are conscious of it or not. Whether you are prepared or not. So, if you are very serious about passing your exams, you should do everything possible to ensure that you study as at when due.
Let me use this opportunity to tell you a very short story that will influence your study positively. This story is about Odysseus.
Odysseus was sailing home from the politically charged but uneventful Trojan Wars when he remembered that sirens liked to hang out in these waters!
Sirens, of course, are the beautiful but deadly island creatures that lure sailors with their angelic voices and nice hair. Sirens in this mundane world include Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Netflix, Instagram, WhatsApp and group chats.
Growing nervous, Odysseus ordered his crew to put wax in his ears and tie him to the ship’s mast. He then asked them not to untie him no matter how much he begged and cried. When the ship passed Siren Island, Odysseus did not hear their songs. His crew tighten the knots, and Odysseus escaped temptation.
What is the lesson here? If you find yourself distracted at home or study environment, tie yourself to the mast like Odysseus. Identify what distracts you and come up with tactics that can help you resist temptation. You need to pass your exams and solidify the foundation of your career before time (and life) gets caught up with you.
